I’ve got to tell you, this is really neat. There are 18 different virtual field trips in Yellowstone Park, each with a different theme. Some may be more in line with some social studies and art lessons, but overall, it’s a great, fun way to do some science exploration. From geysers to bears to wolves to the volcanic caldera and everything in between, there’s not much left out on this site. I started playing through one of the field trips and had to make myself stop. Though some pages are just informational, the one I did was conversation between characters, so it wasn’t that bad. Each page also asks a question and there’s a place where you put your answers. When finished, those can be printed and turned in for a grade, so you actually have evidence the kids did what they were supposed to do rather than just rifling through the pages.
Too many to list individually, though when I have more time, I may split them up. I’ve looked at several of them, but not all. I do know that Bug Hunt, which I thought was goofy at first, also talks about insects and whether their role is as a predator or as prey. Nice.
